I was born in Kidderminster, a small town in the middle of England in 1946. Throughout my life my appreciation of art has influenced everything I have done from designing in my home or garden to preparing a family meal. The need for me to express my feelings and emotions artistically has grown more strongly as time has passed but I had not found the art form that really satisfied me. Then, in 1993 my life changed dramatically. I took my first pottery lesson and bought my first computer. I loved the feel of the clay. I was scared by the unfeeling computer. Now I have my own pottery studio, and I'm told that I'm an internet "junkie". I feel very lucky that I have been able to follow both of these activities. My interest in Pottery is life long and my house is home to a collection of pieces, some by well known potters like Mick Casson and my teacher Martin Homer of Ludlow, but there is still room for some of my own. I love trying out new designs, new ideas, and new glazes. At the moment I am working in stoneware clay and firing at a temperature of 1260°C. My fascination with computers has been encouraged by my son Edward responding to endless cries for help as I searched the web for information. I hope you enjoy looking at my pots. |
